Leading the new generation of West Coast rappers is none other than Kendrick Lamar who gained national recognition after the release of his 2010 mixtape, Overly Dedicated. In 2011, Kendrick released Section. 80 and was featured on the cover of XXL's 2011 Freshman issue along with the likes of Meek Mill, Mac Miller and Big K.R.I.T. Since then, Kendrick has worked with West Coast living legends, Dr. Dre and Snoop Dogg as well as others such as J. Cole. Kendrick's upcoming album Good Kid In a Mad City is slated to drop October of 2012.
