Wiz’s 2011 surge in popularity can’t be accredited to new beaux Amber Rose, but rather to his newfound ability to lay down a melodic hook. While 2010 mixtape Kush & Orange Juice received a great deal of acclaim on the Internet, Wiz’s debut album Rolling Papers marks his first commercial success. In just one year, “Young Khalifa” went from appearances at college campuses to a gig at California’s Coachella music festival. Up next? A world tour, highlighted by a July 25^th stop in New York City’s Central Park along with Big Sean. With his newfound fame and fortune, Wiz’s penchant for marijuana remains the same. In fact, his love for weed will be documented in an upcoming musical film—entitled High School with Snoop Dogg co-starring.
