Breakthrough: After rapping under the name Fat Joe da Gangsta as part of the acclaimed New York rap crew Diggin’ In The Crates (D.I.T.C.) in the early 1990s and releasing two critically acclaimed solo projects, Represent (Relativity, 1993) and Jealous One’s Envy (Relativity, 1995), Joe debuted his own group Terror Squad, including the legendary Big Punisher, on his third project, Don Cartagena (Atlantic, 1998). The album was certified gold and peaked at No. 7 on The Billboard 200 album chart.
Now You Know: Outside of music, Fat Joe has tried his hand at several other ventures, including a clothing store called Fat Joe’s Halftime and a fashion line, FJ560.
