Breakthrough: Though production from fellow Virginia Beach duo The Neptunes helped Pusha T and his brother Malice, collectively known as Clipse, land a deal on Elektra Records in 1993, the pair’s debut, Exclusive Audio Footage (Elektra, 1997), was shelved after the album’s single failed to generate buzz. In 2001, Neptunes member Pharrell Williams signed the group to his Star Trak Entertainment label and helped produce much of their official debut, Lord Willin’ (Star Trak/Arista, 2002), including the smash single “Grindin’.”

Now You Know: In Fall 2008, Clipse officially launched their own fashion line, called Play Clothes.
