Breakthrough: Widely regarded as one of the forefathers of gangsta rap, Kool G. Rap first turned heads on a scene-stealing cameo alongside heavyweights Masta Ace, Craig G, and Big Daddy Kane on the seminal 1988 posse cut "The Symphony." His debut album, Road to Riches (Cold Chillin', 1989), is considered a certified classic.
Now You Know: In her book Confessions of a Video Vixen (Amistad, 2005), Karrine "Superhead" Steffans alleges Kool G Rap abused her, although he insists the allegations are false.
