Breakthrough: After being discovered at a talent contest by members of the Trackmasters production team, Foxy Brown made her rap debut while still a teen on LL Cool J’s ''I Shot Ya,'' from LL's Mr. Smith (Def Jam, 1995). Several appearances followed, including a memorable turn on Jay-Z's ''Ain’t No Nigga,'' from his classic debut, Reasonable Doubt (Roc-A-Fella, 1996). Her 1996 Def Jam debut Ill Na Na immediately established her as a star and went on to sell over three million copies.

Now You Know: In 2005 Foxy Brown was diagnosed with sudden hearing loss, she was completely deaf in both ears for a year but after surgery her hearing was partially restored.
