Project Pat
Name: Patrick Houston
Reppin': Memphis, TN
Breakthrough: An affiliate of Memphis rap group Three 6 Mafia and its wider Hypnotized Camp collective, Project Pat appeared on several of the Camp’s early releases including Three 6 Mafia’s Crazyndalazdayz (Relativity, 1998) and Indo G’s Angel Dust (Relativity, 1998), before releasing his own solo debut, Ghetty Green (Hypnotize Minds/Loud, 1999). Although Ghetty Green did attract some attention, it was Pat’s appearance on Three 6 Mafia’s hit, “Sippin’ on Some Syrup,” in 2000 and subsequent solo hit, “Chickenhead,” featuring La Chat, that established Pat on the national scene. Pat’s sophomore major label release, Mista Don’t Play: Everythangs Workin’ (Hypnotize Minds/Loud, 2001), which featured “Chickenhead,” went gold.
Now You Know: Project Pat’s younger brother is Juicy J, who co-founded the Oscar Award-winning group, Three 6 Mafia, with partner DJ Paul.
