Breakthrough: Widely regarded as rap’s best storyteller, Slick Rick collaborated with Doug E. Fresh on the timeless 1985 hit “La Di Da Di.” The London, England import came into his own with The Great Adventures of Slick Rick (Def Jam, 1988), which featured the hits “Teenage Love,” “Hey Young World,” and “Children’s Story.”
Now You Know: As a child Rick was left blind in his right eye after an accident with a piece of glass as child. The eye patch he had to wear as a result would later become his signature look. In 1990, he pled guilty to two counts of attempted murder after shooting his cousin and a bystander outside of a club. He served five years and was released in 1996.

loool, His rapping style is off tha hook, really hilarious. Especially on the track children's story, he has an english accent and... damn wat can i say, he is original and unique in a talented way.
