Bizzy Bone
Name: Bryon McCane
Reppin': Cleveland, OH
Breakthrough: After the massive ground-up success of their hard-edged debut single “Thuggish Ruggish Bone,” Bizzy’s group Bone Thugs-N-Harmony won a Grammy for Best Rap Performance for their song “Crossroads”—a tribute to the man who signed the group, Eazy-E—from the multi-platinum E. 1999 Eternal (Ruthless, 1995). The group’s quick-tongued delivery combined harmony with street rap to create an altogether new sound and Bizzy more than any other member solidified the group’s identity. After Bone Thugs experienced internal strife, Bizzy struck out on his own in 1998 with the confessional solo debut, Heaven’z Movie (Relativity). He has released a startling number of albums in between intermittent Bone Thugs reunions.
Now You Know: Citing a personal quest to find himself, Bizzy Bone voluntarily lived the life of a homeless person for seven months in 2004.
