Breakthrough: Kool Moe Dee first made noise as a member of the Treacherous Three, known for the classic single "Feel the Heartbeat". His legendary onstage takedown of Busy-Bee Starski drew the blueprint for the rap battles of today. His sophomore solo effort, How Ya Like Me Now (Jive, 1987), went platinum. He was also the first rapper to perform at the Grammys.

Now You Know: The track "No Respect" off How Ya Like Me Now was inspired by Dee’s feud with LL Cool J.
