Breakthrough: A former backup dancer for Trick Daddy, Trina was asked to spit a verse on his song “Nann Nigga,” for his sophomore album, www.thug.com (Slip-N-Slide/Warlock/Atlantic, 1998). The song ended up being the first single from the album and Trina was quickly signed to Trick’s label Slip-N-Slide. Thanks to her rebellious nature and overtly sexual lyrics, her debut album, Da Baddest Bitch (Slip-N-Slide/Atlantic),” featuring the monster single “Move Over,” sold over 700,000 copies in the U.S.
Now You Know: Before Trina linked up with Trick Daddy to jumpstart her music career, Trina worked in Miami as a real estate agent.
