Breakthrough: After years of performing as part of the group the St. Lunatics, Nelly burst onto the scene with his solo debut, Country Grammar (Universal), in 1999. The album, which featured the smash single of the same name, as well as the hits “E.I.” and “Ride Wit Me,” went on to sell a staggering 9 million copies, and firmly established Nelly as a pop star. His sophomore album, Nellyville (Universal, 2002), featuring the Grammy Award–winning single “Hot in Herre,” went seven times platinum. To date, Nelly has sold more than 30 million albums worldwide.
Now You Know: In addition to Universal, Nelly is also signed Fo’Reel Entertainment, the company owned by rapper Mase and his manager, Chudda Love.

Awesome rapper, I hope his next ablum is a lot better. I wish him the best and he is one of the few rappers that helped change how I feel about rap and made me go from hater to fan.
