Latia Tucker's all business. The Hampton University marketing major called our office about six times to make sure her CD had been properly considered. "The more times you say your name, the more they'll remember you," says Tucker. Even if you forget her name, you'll likely remember her gospel-tinged vocals. On "My Window," a power ballad with lush chords, the singer grapples with and eventually overcomes the demons of emotional abuse. "If there's a glitch in your life, you can still flip it," she says. The song is based on her own hardships with a former love. Things got so bad, she even gave up singing temporarily, which she stiil can't believe. "As long as I have a voice, I'll never stop singing again," she says. As long as she keeps hitting the right notes, her name will stay fresh in our minds.
