Dog really is man's best friend.
Last weekend a Michigan toddler was miraculously saved from drowning in a pool by the family's dog. The brave pooch, which the fam named Bear, jumped into action after he discovered Patricia Drauch's 14-month old son, Stanley, floating face up in the pool.
Drauch, 30, had turned her back for a second to retrieve a shovel from the garage. When she turned back around, the toddler was floating face down but Bear immediately jumped in and propped the boy on his back and out of water.
The young boy was unresponsive when he was pulled out of the pool and the mother was unable to reach 911, due to poor cell phone service. She told officials from the Cass County Sheriff's Department that by that point, Stanley appeared to be blue. Drauch drove straight to the Marcellus Fire Department, which is about two miles from her Maple Street home. Stanley regained consciousness on the way over and was brought to a local hospital where he was released shortly after.
Young Stanley is now back to normal and doing just fine.
Bear is a hero!
