Eddie Murphy Is not dead, folks. Last night, an ugly rumor about the comic dying in a freak snowboard accident had Twitter going crazy. He was reportedly on vacation in Switzerland when he met his demise. However, Eddie's camp assures media that he is alive and well.

According to the folks at Global Associated News (via The Inquisitor), Murphy was vacationing with his family in Switzerland when the intrepid snowboarder found himself connecting with a large tree. Although the “Coming to America” star was airlifted to a nearby hospital for treatment, he was pronounced dead on arrival. Naturally, it didn’t take long for this bogus piece to propagate, sending Twitter users into a state of panic.
