Controlling the comic book legend, your mission is simple: smash everything into itty smoking bits. What you see here is what you get and, frankly, if you see it, you can trample or obliterate it in spectacular fashion. Lumbering along city streets while cops and commandos give chase, bash baddies using buses, boulders and anything else — ranging from streetlights to signage as impromptu weapons.
Let your imagination (and fists) run wild as you sprint up walls, scale skyscrapers, or uproot trees and fling them at helicopters hovering overhead. Punt policemen into next week. Stomp through oncoming traffic. Rip a car in half and fling the wreckage at enemies or bust ass by turning the scrap into makeshift brass knuckles.
Anything goes. The more havoc you wreak, the better the audiovisual payoff. And the easier upgrading the hero with killer combos and special moves, such as shockwave-inducing sonic claps, becomes. Xbox owners can enjoy every environment-shattering second in stunning high-definition; everyone else will just enjoy themselves.
Repetitive as the punch, kick, repeat routine eventually gets, it’s still an eye-opening exercise in anger management.
