Urban Chaos: Riot Response

Email this article Print this article Send us a tip

Storyline: With Urban Chaos, you play as Nick Mason head of a special unit called T-Zero, a task force that has been put together to help stop terrorist forces - and in this case, street gangs - that are trying to take over the city. The game is violent and has got some foul language, but can it bring something new to the overcrowded first person shooter genre? right Audio/Visual: Graphically the game doesn’t ‘wow’ you in the way a game like Halo or Black does, but it’s solid. The environments are well done and the characters are a bit pixel-like when you’re close, but it looks decent. The sound effects are solid as well - the gunfire, explosions and the upclose action is as good as any other game. The voice acting is well done as well and some of the commentary is kind of funny and sarcastic. Controls: The controls are pretty unique. Instead of using the D-Pad to scroll through you’re equipment, you use the buttons to scrolls through guns, Molotov cocktails, butcher knives and tasers during a battle. You use the X button to reload the weapon and use the triggers to fire or throw. One of the best features is the riot shield. By using the left trigger you can pull up the riot shield to protect yourself from gun shots, flying butcher knives, and Molotov cocktails. It also helps in close range battles too; it’ll save your behind quite a few times. Hotness: The game is action packed; there’s a variety of weapons that are fun to use and you can unlock all types of goodies with head shots, non-lethal arrests and findings evidence on various levels. Wackness: There isn’t much of a story going on, so some gamers may get a little bored and might be ready to move on to something else sooner rather then later. Rating: 3.5
