FABLE (Microsoft)
Storyline: Fable has been in development for years. Rumors of how the game would change the landscape of video-gaming ran amok during its creation. Unfortunately some of the ideas didn’t make the final cut. Fable was touted as the role-playing that would end all role playing games, but in its final version it’s more like an adventure/hack-n-slash game with role playing elements. The story revolves around a hero/villain (your choice), and your quest to find your sister and your mother that you were separated from at a young age. The environment is free-roaming but the story does not move forward unless you complete the quests. Let the adventure... (read more)
BloodRayne 2 (Majesco)
Storyline: Two years ago, BloodRayne stepped on the scene without much fanfare, however, the game fared pretty well sales-wise so a sequel was made. In the first game, the story had a historical bent where BloodRayne, a half vampire/half human heroine took on the Nazi’s and the entire Third Reich by herself. Seventy-some years later, in BloodRayne 2, she’s on a mission to destroy all the vampires, stopping them from taking over the world. Kind of like a female-version of Blade. Well, let’... (read more)
Spider-Man 2 (Activision)
Storyline: To go along with the blockbuster movie, Activision has once again delved its hands into the Spider-Man franchise. But this is not your ordinary “movie product” game title – it’s actually pretty good. The game is sort of the same vein as the Grand Theft Auto series where you’re given free reign to roam the city and choose to complete any missions that you want. Of course, you have to complete the missions for the story to move forward. How does... (read more)
MTV Music Generator 3: This is the Remix (Codemasters)
Storyline: It’s really tough to call MTV Music Generator 3: This is the Remix a game. There aren’t any points to gain, no levels to pass and no characters to be. More than anything MMG3 is a music program, similar to ProTools or Reason, for kids to try their hand at making some music. The game includes hits songs from Snoop Dogg, Outkast, Sean Paul, Carl Cox, Fabolous and others that the player can add or delete different sound... (read more)
Kingdom Under Fire: The Crusaders (Microsoft)
Storyline: Kingdom Under Fire: The Crusaders is a sequel of sorts to its PC counterpart. It’s a strategy game mixed in with some hack-n-slash elements. You are a commander of several units of soldiers during what seems like medieval times mixed with Middle-Earth, due to the Orcs and trolls that you have to battle. Can you battle the Dark Legion and save ... (read more)
