The 10 Craziest Fights Involving Rappers In Recent Hip-Hop History

Chris Yuscavage Posted October 3, 2012
There's nothing particularly new about rappers getting into fistfights. Over the course of time, there have been a number of MCs who have decided to settle their beefs with their fists—instead of on diss records. But, those fistfights are usually pretty far and few between. So, imagine our surprise this weekend when there was not one, not two, but three different fistfights involving rappers!

If you haven't heard by now, fight weekend got off to an early start last Thursday night in Hollywood when Game reportedly got thrown out of a club that was hosting Lil Wayne's 30th birthday party after getting into a scuffle with CTE affiliate 211. The violence continued on Saturday night when Rick Ross and Young Jeezy got into a shoving match backstage at the BET Awards in Atlanta. And, at the same event, MMG rapper Gunplay also got into it with a couple of guys from G-Unit right in front of a bunch of cops. All three resulted in ugly scenes and put rappers in the spotlight for all the wrong reasons.

Like we said, though, there's nothing particularly new about rappers getting into fistfights. And, some of them have gotten even crazier than the ones that went down this weekend. So, after hearing about the most recent skirmishes, we decided to put together a list of The 10 Craziest Fights Involving Rappers In Recent History. C'mon, guys: Can't we all just get along?
The Fight: Joe Budden vs. Raekwon
What Happened: For several weeks back in June and July of 2009, Jumpoff and Method Man were involved in a war of words that ended with Budden getting into an altercation with some of Rae's boy at a Rock The Bells show in Washington, D.C.
The Result: Budden showed up on UStream shortly after the fight holding an ice pack to his eye. However, Rae downplayed the beef and said that he didn't have anything to do with it. "All the rumors are false bout me and that kid," he tweeted. "there was no fight or altercation, a nigga just had to clear that up." Rae's boys, though? Well, they made no such disclaimers.
The Fight: Waka Flocka Flame vs. One of his former rap proteges
What Happened: During a charity event at a bowling alley in Atlanta in September 2011, Waka's protege approached him and asked him about some money that Waka owed him. He then sucker punched Waka and all hell broke loose inside the bowling alley.
The Result: Waka—and several members of his entourage—eventually chased the guy down and beat him up. But, Waka claimed that he was simply defending himself and he was not arrested in conjunction with the fight.
The Fight: Game vs. 40 Glocc
What Happened: Game tracked 40 down in Los Angeles in July 2012 and proceeded to attack him while holding his iPhone and filming the fight.
The Result: After the fight ended with 40 Glocc running away, 40 claimed that he was jumped and also said that Game had threatened him with a gun shortly before the fight started. Game denied both claims and said that he'd won the fight fair and square.
The Fight: Game vs. Ras Kass
What Happened: Game's fight against 40 Glocc wasn't his first. Back in September 2006, they got into a fistfight at a club in L.A. And then, they had another fight on New Year's Eve in 2010.
The Result: Game says that he whooped Ras Kass in both of the two fights. But, damn. How do you hate someone so much that you fight them once, wait five years, and then fight them again? Craziness.
The Fight: Lil Wayne vs. Dez Bryant
What Happened: During a night out at Miami nightclub LIV in January 2012, Weezy and the Dallas Cowboys wide receiver reportedly got into some type of altercation.
The Result: Neither of them was arrested. And, shortly after the fight reportedly took place, Bryant came out and said, "Me and this man don't have a problem with one another," on his Twitter page. But, a handful of witnesses have confirmed that the fight did go down. For what it's worth, Bryant's advisor refused to deny that the fight took place, but he did say that his client hadn't been arrested.
The Fight: Kid Cudi vs. An overeager fan
What Happened: After the fan jumped on stage at a show in Cleveland in July 2010, Cudi chased him down and delivered a few punches while fans cheered on.
The Result: The kid was removed from the stage. And, as a result of this fight and several others at his shows, Cudi has earned himself quite the reputation. Bottom line: Do not crash the stage at a Kid Cudi concert!
The Fight: Prodigy vs. Saigon
What Happened: During a show at S.O.B.'s in New York City in September 2007, Sai approached P on stage and got a few shots in on him before Mobb Deep's entourage chased him out of the building.
The Result: Although Sai and P have made peace over the course of the last few years, they both claimed a victory after their fight and the debate rages on over who really got the W here.
The Fight: T.I. vs. Lil Flip
What Happened: After trading barbs on records and fighting over the "King of the South" title, these two fought for real in March 2005 after Tip made a trip to Houston to settle the matter.
The Result: Tip got the best of Flip—and put out a video to prove it. After that, there was no questioning who the "King of the South" was and Flip's career was really never the same after that.
The Fight: Maino vs. Yung Berg
What Happened: At a club in Atlanta in October 2008, Maino slapped Berg across the face after Berg approached him and started "talking reckless."
The Result: Maino later explained that he was doing Berg a favor by slapping him. "I tried to sober him up," he said shortly after the fight, "because something was wrong with him."
The Fight: Drake vs. Chris Brown
What Happened: Back in June, Drizzy and Breezy were both inside a nightclub called WIP in Manhattan when a huge fight broke out that resulted in dozens of injuries and thousands of dollars in property damage.
The Result: Shortly after the event, several large lawsuits were filed against both artists and the club, including one filed by NBA star Tony Parker. A promoter also offered to have them participate in a boxing match for a prize of $1 million. But, so far, a real fight hasn't been set up. Let's hope it doesn't come to that.
