Estelle might've copped a few Spring looks straight off the runways in New York before jetting off to London's Fashion Week.

Fresh off of the front rows of New York City's Fashion Week, the UK singer-slash-rapper was recently spotted in this acid-washed and Grapes of Wrath-inspired denim, a look that prominently graced the Ralph Lauren Spring 2010 show.

Estelle shows you how to take washed denim (that if worn wrong can look like a vestigial relic from your mother's closet, circa 1986) from frumpy to fashionable. Check her use of black accessories like her belt, bag and shoes to add sophistication. It's a look you should stay on top of--it'll be a big part of the work-wear resurgence coming once the groundhog sees his silhouette.

Another way to interpret the trend is to simply throw on a pair of distressed jeans with a power-shouldered tuxedo blazer. Be sure to contrast with more statement pieces like a chunky heel or studded bag and you'll be fly enough for your American Boy to take you to New York, L.A. or anywhere between. --Adrien Field
