V Confidential: Men In Black 3 Greenlit?

VIBE hears that Sony will move forward with the third installment in their billion dollar franchise Men In Black 3. The big question is whether Will Smith is going to be cashing in on another extraterrestrial check. No word yet on Will's involvement, but he  better make up his mind fast. The script is being written by Ethan Cohen who wrote Tropic Thunder--we wouldn't want Robert Downey Jr. swiping Big Willie's spot.

    Robert would probably be alot better in it than Will Smith was. That and he is friends with Tommy Lee Jones. He and Robert have the same work ethics. They were in Natural Born Killers and US Marshalls together already. Tommy and Robert work well together. As for Will Smith being "Big Willie" anymore. I do believe that is passe', he is not as popular as he once was. However, I don't think Robert would do it anyway. He is way "too" popular himself and he has way "too" many projects of his own going on. I am sure it would be better with him in it though!

    Oh, you also meant as Robert being dressed as an African American? Am I correct? I ended too soon before. That was for one movie role and was a one time thing. I thought Roberts' performance was fantastic, mature, respectful and Oscarworthy. However, he will never do another role like that again. I believe he gets harrassed alot about that role by people and it was a fantastic and extremely difficult performance for him to pull off. Yet he played it well. I doubt any other white American actor could have played the role as well. However, as himself, in a new Men in Black film he would be great. I didn't mean replacing Will as an African American actor.
