Chris Brown: "Domestic Violence Is Not Just Men On Women"
VIBE.COM By: jkennedy Posted 12-4-2009 5:44 pm

In his cover story for VIBE's relaunch issue, Chris Brown shares his views on domestic abuse.

"It's never okay for a man to hit a woman but it's [also] never okay for a woman to hit a man," says the singer, whose third album Graffiti, hits stores Tuesday (Dec. 8). I think domestic violence is not just men on women."

Chris Brown plead guilty to one count of assault in June, following an altercation with ex-girlfriend Rihanna, earlier this year. He was sentenced to 180 days of community service, five years probation, counseling and a "stay away" order from Rihanna.

Following in Rihanna's footsteps, Brown will appear on 20/20 tonight.

DKute1 says: Vibe, I'd like to thank you so very much for the article and cover of Chris Brown. For many years now I have regarded him as a personal friend. Someone who I keep in my personal prayers. And I don't just pray for anyone. While I wasn't present during the interview he seems comfortable enough with you to be truly candid, himself. The Chris Brown I know. Thank you for your interview techniques that have revealed the ever lovable , honest and sincere, Chris Brown. It was honest yet tasteful. Thank you for giving my 'country boy' a chance.

Laur says: I'm not sure what to say about Chris Brown. On one hand, it's like, how long are we gonna keep hating Chris. On the other hand, the year isn't even over yet and it's almost like he expects ppl to sweep it under the rug. What he did was foul and all I can say to Chris is to keep taking those anger management classes or whatever he's doing and IN TIME, ppl will warm up to him. He's not the only one whose hit a woman, but he certainly can't expect his sales to sky rocket...this year anyway. Keep your head up Chris and STAY OUT OF TROUBLE!

Anonymous says: Chris is a good kid.Give him a chance.Don't put this boys future in jepardy because of his mistake.I'll admit his mistake was a mistake that could have been prevented by simply couting to 10 or just leaving, but he was 19 at the time a kid as most people call him.A lot of people are abused everyday and most of the time they are killed.I would like to point out that no one was killed and Rihanna's bruises weren't terrible she'll live.Women are a little bit how should I put this women try to provoke the man into hitting them in an arguement.I've seen it myself.rihanna is one of those crazy women she even joked about bashing a bottle of her broters head.Very aggresive wouldn't you think. Now lastly I'd like to state that we as a people should not judge a person from the confines of our livingrooms or wherever or whenever we heard about this accident. Sincerly a 13 year old country girl from North Carolina :)

Bianca says: vibe i want to personally thank you for putting chris brown on the cover. I love him and always will. Everyone deserves a second chance. The media needs to leave chris brown alone. And stop dragging him name through the mud. At the end of the day he is talented kid. Way more talented then have these cats in the game.

Anonymous says: i dont think that this thing should still be goin on cuz look every day in the world there is a woman out there getting abuse by a man.Rihanna is not the only one am a woman and i think that it is not ok for a man to hit a woman. sayin sorry does not fix every thing he is a young man, people make mistakes and they pay for them their entire lifes he is paying for his mistakes right now. therefore people get over it Rihanna already have, stop forcing on chris brown there are other problems in the world.

Anonymous says: Some of us are just too hard core. We all have made mistakes, non of us are perfect. Non of us want to be punished for life for making a mistake. We are all GOD'S children and our GOD is a GOD of a "SECOND CHANCE". Jesus is proof of that. As long as you dwell on the past, there can be no future. New Year 2010 live and let live... Peace
