New Drake: Watch Your Back Usher

It clocks in at just 1 minute and 48 seconds, but the intriguing snippet of the new track “Fall For You Type” from rap phenom Drake will surely have the hip hop nation divided. It comes off more as a synth-driven sensual slow jam than his hard-charging first single “Over” as Young Money’s Drizzy croons, “I swear I always fall for your type…I just can’t explain this shit at all.” Yes, singing is nothing new for Drake. Still, it’s a bold statement from a guy whose upcoming May album Thank Me Later is being prepped as the most anticipated release of 2010. So is this hip hop or R&B? Or both?—Keith Murphy
