Pimp C - The Sweet James Jones Stories - (RAP-A-LOT)

Since Pimp C's currently on lockdown, many of Stories' shortcomings aren't his fault.

Since Pimp C's currently on lockdown, many of Stories' shortcomings aren't his fault. Unprofessional vocal mixes ("Slow Down" and "Get My Money"), along with the endless supply of misplaced falsetto hooks ("Get Throwed" and "A Thin Line"), create a sloppy, amateurish feel reminiscent of efforts by Shyne and Slick Rick, who are no strangers to prison. The Texas legend's high-pitched flow does sound timeless on the observant "I Gotta Thang," where he explores the havoc of vices. But mostly, this attempt to capitalize on the buzz UGK partner Bun B created is hard to swallow.
