Capone - Pain, Time & Glory (Fastlife)

Email this article Print this article Send us a tip

Unfortunately, Pain, Time & Glory fails to recapture the magic from his days delivering the war report alongside partner N.O.R.E. Capone’s distinct voice and seamless flow fall victim to stale concepts like “The Manual” — a rundown of street-survival dos and don’ts. There are some winning tracks, like “Oh No,” which cleverly samples the ’60s girl-group the Shangri-Las. And he pulls off "U So Craaazzzy," a ladies' joint with marching-band flare. But rinky-dink production and uneventful writing create more Pain than Glory.
