Various Artists - Jermaine Dupri Presents... Young, Fly & Flashy (Virgin)
Though the production lacks the teeth of today’s crunk, some artists stand out, like T. Waters, whose rhythmic flow blesses “Throw’d Off.” Others, like former bass all-stars KP & Envy (“Put Cha Hands Up”), sound obsolete. What’s more disappointing is the absence of Dupri’s forté — R&B — on what ends up being a lackluster So So Def showcase.
