B.G. The Heart of Tha Streetz Vol. 2 - I Am What I Am (Chopper City)

First, the grizzled vet tests the waters on the synth-heavy warmup “Move Around,” reuniting with former Cash Money cohort Mannie Fresh for a solid, if not spectacular, result. On “Whateva U Like,” however, he turns on the lyrical autopilot, attempting to reassure the ladies: “I went through Hurricane Katrina, I been wet before.” While the fate of his afterlife remains to be seen, Vol. 2 serves as an enjoyable but unfocused return for the New Orleans native.
