Cash wants to “LeBron James” a Cleveland hip hop scene that hasn’t kissed a trophy since Bone Thugs-N-Harmony was at the crossroads. Though his debut is a game effort, Cash struggles to leave a lasting impression. For many new artists, reppin’ a city is hard. There’s a distinct delivery, slang, or sound (think Nelly or Juvenile) that solidifies the connection to where they’re from—and ultimately to listeners’ consciousness.
