left The lead single “Do It to It” is driven not by its minimalist beat but by the foursome’s taut harmonizing and attitude-laden hook. The sultry “Taken” features smoldering 808s, light strings, and soaring vocals, recalling the best, bounciest Destiny’s Child anthems. But for all their lyrical spunk, Cherish shies away from round-the-way flounce in their ballads (“Whenever,” “Oooh”). The slow jams may snap, but they never quite pop.
