HILL JOINS KANYE WEST, JOHN LEGEND,
LUDACRIS, BIG BOI, T.I.,112, FAITH EVANS, AMERIE, AND OTHERS
New York, NY - Accompanied by a 26-piece band, eight-time Grammy-winning recording artist Lauryn Hill makes a dramatic return to performance at the first ever VIBE MusicFest presented by BURGER KING, VIBE Editor-in-Chief, Mimi Valdés announced today.
Hill's much-anticipated comeback promises to be nothing short of a history-making event. She will perform songs from her record-breaking album, "The Miseducation of Lauryn Hill," as well as from her renowned repertoire with the Fugees. Hill is one of the highest selling artists of all time, with sales of her sophomore album with the Fugees, "The Score," continuing to rank as the highest selling rap album of all time.
"Lauryn Hill remains an influential artist to VIBE readers and urban music lovers around the world," said Valdés. "She is the perfect addition to our salute to Black Music Month, and we are honored that she has chosen the VIBE MusicFest to relaunch her performance career."
The MusicFest also features other icons of the music industry, including R&B sensation Kanye West, along with Ludacris, Big Boi, John Legend, T.I., 112, Faith Evans, Amerie, and rising star Keyshia Cole. The 1st Annual VIBE MusicFest, the country's hottest new music festival, will take place June 10-12, 2005, in Atlanta, Ga., at the Georgia Dome.

While the nights will be filled with sounds from the nation's hottest vocalists, the daytime Expo at the famed Georgia World Congress Center and the International Plaza will include a new artist stage, streetball scrimmage, fashion and beauty makeovers, a gaming lounge, and classic car exhibit. Fest fans will also have the opportunity to meet their favorite musical artists, comedians, and sports icons face-to-face at scheduled meet and greets and try out for a chance to open Saturday night's concert as a winner of "Free Agent". As an added attraction, VIBE will kick off an informative seminar series featuring senior-level professionals and inspirational speakers from music and entertainment-related industries, as well as politics, business, and academia.
