Tookie's Ashes To Be Scattered in Africa
right Tookie, who’d become a Nobel Prize nominee for his work as an author of anti-gang children’s tales, stated in one of his books, “I want to be buried in South Africa under a yohirimbi tree or my ashes scattered in the Blue Nile River to feed the fish there,” and his family and friends are making sure his wishes become true.
With the help of former South Africa president, Nelson Mandela’s ex-wife, Winnie Madikizela-Mandela, who offered to help fulfill his wish, Tookie’s ashes will be scattered in South Africa, following a public funeral next week Tuesday (December 20th) in Los Angeles.
Stanley “Tookie” Williams, Crips gang co-founder, was executed December 13th after serving 26 years of his life sentence for murder. Confirmed funeral speakers include Jesse Jackson and Snoop Dogg.
