HOT FIVE AT 5: Featuring R. Kelly

With new cuts from U-N-I, Clipse, Wale and T.I.

R. Kelly feat. Keri Hilson - “Number 1 Sex”

It won’t make Kells’ greatest hits list, but this midtempo newbie is the return home Trey Songz hoped for with his “D.O.A.” freestyle. Mr. 12 Play lays off the Auto-Tune and gives us a reason to believe he’s on his way back to hitsville.

Clipse feat. Keri Hilson - "Eyes On Me"

From their forthcoming Till the Casket Drops (Columbia)
The Thornton brothers are going pop on their own terms. Gone are the lyrical twists and turns. "Eyes" features direct, Jeezy-fied rhymes and R&B's new sweetheart Keri Hilson. We like the smell of the package the Clipse are cooking. Take a whiff.

Wale - “Rain, Sleet, Snow”

For someone so close to the Hypebeast culture, Wale’s rock-infused dedication to the Nike swoosh isn’t half as fun as Nelly’s “Air Force Ones” or as hard-hitting as Run-D.M.C.’S “My Adidas.”

Asher Roth feat. U-N-I - “Lark in My Go-Kart” (Unofficial Remix)

U-N-I perfectly play off the the zany structure of Asher’s original with verses both fun and vulgar. Maybe Mr. Roth will catch wind of this and they’ll make an official mix.

T.I. - “All Night”

To Just Blaze’s chagrin, his unfinished T.I. cut leaked to the masses. It was obviously made to be released after Tip’s prison bid as he references continuing his reign as The King. There’s promise, but until the Grand Hustle captain comes back to clean this up, it’s a mess.
