Danger Mouse Steps In Some Sticky-Icky

Producer/DJ Danger Mouse has been issued a "cease and desist" notice by EMI Records for his Grey Album, which marries Jay-Z's vocals from The Black Album with music from the Beatles' White Album. EMI Records controls the sound recordings of the Beatles catalogue, which is co-owned by Sony Music and Michael Jackson. Danger Mouse admits that he knew he might get in trouble when he pressed 3,000 copies of the CD, which he insists weren't planned for retail. The music made its way onto the Internet and into independent retailers, which are also required to remove the CDs from shelves. Hmm, one wonders why Jay-Z isn't making such a stink about it?
