Latifah Secures Film Rights
Queen Latifah's Hollywood star just keeps getting larger. Already a fixture in top films like Chicago, Barbershop 2, Bringing Down The House, and the forthcoming Barbershop spinoff Beauty Shop, Latifah is continuing to make waves behind the scenes with her Flavor Unit Productions. Most recently, the Queen scored the rights to a remake of the 1974 film Truck Turner, which originally starred Isaac Hayes. Flavor Unit also co-produced the First Annual VIBE Awards which aired on UPN in November.
