Music Industry Musical Chairs Continues
Antonio "L.A." Reid, recently let go from Arista, is set to take the place of Lyor Cohen who defected from Universal Music's Island Def Jam as CEO to become head of Warner Music's U.S. recorded music business. It looks like Kevin Liles, president of Island Def Jam, may follow Cohen to Warner Music. Liles, currently working on a book about hip hop management, resigned from his post yesterday after failing to negotiate extension of a contract.
