Even though rapper Rah Digga hasn’t released an album in three years, she still snagged a BET Awards nomination for Best Female Hip Hop Artist. Rah Digga released her first solo album, Dirty Harriet (Elektra Records), in 2000, which solidified her reputation as a genuine lyricist. Since then, fans of the First Lady of Flipmode—Busta Rhyme’s rap collective—have been eagerly awaiting her follow-up. Fans were then teased when Blender and other magazines reviewed what was to be the hip-hop diva’s sophomore set due out on J Records this year, Everything is a Story. However, in a much-publicized maneuver, Busta Rhymes and his Flipmode Squad parted ways with J Records before the label could release Rah Digga’salbum. Now, as she plans her next move, fans are relegated to hearing her on mixtapes, where she currently has a hot track with Lil Kim, and seeing her at the BET Awards (June 29, 2004), where she just may walk away with an award…without an album.
