This past Sunday, a Durham, NC congregation launched its first hip hop service. The service was lead by Christopher "Play" Martin, formerly of Kid 'N Play. He joined forces with Pastor Carl Kenney, who leads Compassion Ministries, to kick off this new hip hop church service called "The Remix." According to The Herald Sun, "The message the new church will project is that hip hoppers don't have to ditch thier music or their signature dress of baggy jeans, oversized shirts, tennis shoes, and baseball caps in order to be followers of Christ." The Remix service will be held every fourth Sunday of and well-known artists such as Salt from Salt N' Pepa will perform.
