The Bridge Street Development Corporation (BSDC) Fourth Annual Show House opening gala will honor "Bedford-Stuyvesant Legends" that include former or current residents whose accomplishments help redefine what it means to come from an under served neighborhood. This year's Legends are rap superstar Jay-Z, Lenny Wilkens, head coach of the New York Knicks, John Mulzac, a retired Tuskegee Airman, and prominent entertainment attorney L. Londell McMillan. Courtney Sloane, the president and creative director of the Manhattan design studio Alternative Design, will receive the 2004 BSDC Show House Design Excellence Award. The showcase property, 380 Lewis Avenue (between Macon and MacDonough Streets), a 112-year-old apartment building in the historic Stuyvesant Heights section of Brooklyn's Bedford-Stuyvesant neighborhood, debuts on Thursday, June 17, 2004 at 5:00 PM with the awards ceremony taking place at Akwaaba Mansion (347 MacDonough Street between Stuyvesant and Lewis Avenues) at 6:30 PM.
