Actor Anthony Anderson Rape Charge
Anthony Anderson, 33, was charged on July 28 with the aggravated rape of a woman, according to The Smoking Gun. Based on a copy of the police report posted on their website, Anderson and Wayne Witherspoon, 42, lured the movie extra into a production trailer and proceeded to forcibly remove her clothes. They took explicit photos of the unnamed victim and assaulted her "with their hands" among other things. The woman finally got away after a witness heard her screams and came to the trailer to unlock the door. The victim ran away naked. Both men were later released from Shelby County Jail (in Memphis, Tenn.) after posting $20,000 bonds. This all went down on the grounds of the Shelby County Corrections Center, where scenes from director John Singleton's Hustle & Flow were being shot. Anderson stars in the flick, which focuses on a wannabe rapper. Reuters describe Anderson as an "oversized actor with small roles in several movies" including Scary Movie 3, Big Mama's House, and Barbershop, and he also had a brief sitcom stint on The WB's All About The Andersons."
