Is a person the way they are due to their upbringing or are they born with their characteristics? After the video vixen’s Hot 97 interview and her book release, Confessions of a Video Vixen (Amistad), vibe.com message boards have been buzzing with the scandalous updates and questions.
Some of the shocking revelations in her memoir include an abusive relationship, where she was forced to give oral sex to her husband (Kool G Rap) until her nose bled, her extensive drug use, a rough childhood, and an endless list of celebrity bed-buddies.
All of the circumstances of her life have made some people question whether she is a victim, who had very few choices in life. Whereas others believe it is just who she is, because there are no excuses for her sex escapades with over twenty-eight famous men. What do you think, was she born a gold digger or is she a victim of her bad experiences?

There are different sides of this type of thing. YES I do agree that hard situations can force you to do things or influence you or whatever you want to say. But more than that, I believe that we always have a CHOICE. If food wasn't on the table, she didn't have to sleep with those men. I dont' care what she's been through in her past. She cannot blame all of her strange deeds, whatever they may be, on her past issues and situations. When it all falls down, we have to make a decision. A decision to be better. To do right. To endure. That type of thing. I'm not judging her because that is definitely not my place. But I can say that the past never completely has to determine the future. We make choices. Decisions. And in the end, we can't blame anybody else but ourselves for our reputations or mistakes.

I think karrine steffans is amazing..poor girl i feel bad for her since day 1 she was abused by her own mother, Raped as a child, then to marry and be abused by her son's father...that's wrong, I know people call her a hoe, but i think sleeping around with all those different people she wanted to feel protected & loved because she never really felt it...these guys are jst as wrong as her..but nobody ever mention there name in any wrong...they knew she was young so they played the role...I'm glad she made this book because the ones who judge her by calling her hoes and all must have never read the book the first few chapters had me into tears..to read about how much torture, pain and abuse she went through..I understand why she did what she did, she had to find a way to get out and if sleepin with those different guys meant money on the table for her & her child to get away i can't blame her..she's a hustla, a mother...would you have done the same if you were in her position? These rappers talk about her all the time, but there still associationg with her intimately...she's a victim in my case.
