While New Orleans has been dominating the media’s attention, Banner is working hard to help Mississippi’s ‘hoods that were destroyed by Katrina. The “Gangsta Walk” rapper, whose Certified album hits stores September 20, launched an organization and website, www.healthehood.com, to help the poorest areas in Mississippi, which have also been slow to receive help.
In addition to aiding his hometown state, Banner is the captain of a benefit concert in Atlanta. The fundraiser, which will be held September 17, will feature Ludacris, MJG and 8 Ball, Killer Mike and many others. All profits from the event will go towards Katrina victims as well.
If you would like to contribute a donation to Banner's Heal The Hood organization, send a check or money order to Heal The Hood, Inc., PO Box 13815, Jackson, MS 39236.
