The rapper has spent time helping survivors around his hometown, and has also established his own comfort drive in association with the Black Heritage Society of Houston, a non-profit organization chartered by the state of Texas. The Lil Troy Hurricane Katrina Comfort Drive is not looking for monetary donations, but is instead asking for donations of clothing, canned good, toys, books, magazines and other items that can be used for immediate assistance to hurricane victims.

"In times of need," Lil Troy said in a statement, "we must help others that are less fortunate. All we’re asking is that you gather some of these comfort items and go to your local post office and ship it overnight or 2 day mail to the Black Heritage Society."

"With the help of the Red Cross and Helping Hands, your generous donations will be transported directly to the Houston Astrodome and to The Georgia Brown Convention Center and Shelter," said Sylvester Brown of the Black Heritage Society. "There are no middle men here... we will be making trips daily.

Please send donations to:

More information can be found at BlackHeritageSociety.org and rsvp4u.org.

Lil Troy will also be donating a portion of the proceeds form the sale of his upcoming DVD, out September 20, to the Black Heritage Society.
