Paying homage to honoree LL Cool J, Nelly will perform “I’m Bad” and then join Ciara for a medley of “Jinglin’ Baby” and “Doin’ It.” Ice T and Snoop Dogg will share the stage for renditions of “Colors,” “New Jack Hustler” and “6 N The Mornin,” while the man himself will perform “Momma Said Knock You Out.”
Jermaine Dupri and Ludacris will honor Big Daddy Kane when he joins Common, T.I., The Roots and Biz Markie to perform his hit, “Raw.” Missy Elliott and Eve will help honor Salt N Pepa by performing “Push It” and “Shoop,” while En Vogue will reunite to perform “Whatta Man” with the rap duo.
Terrence Howard, who's dominating the box office with Four Brothers and 50 Cent's upcoming film Get Rich or Die Tryin', will present an award to John Singleton for his film Boyz N The Hood, and Kanye West will perform his latest single, “Golddigger.”
Nas will introduce DJ Kid Capri and DJ Jazzy Jeff who will perform a medley with honoree Grand Master Flash of his hits “Frisco Disco,” “Dance to the Drummer’s Beat,” “Good Times” and “7 Minutes of Funk.” Then Grandmaster Flash and The Furious Five will be joined by Fat Joe for a performance of “Freedom” and “Message.”
Finally, the evening will be capped off by a tribute to The Notorious B.I.G. with performances of “Big Poppa,” “Hypnotize,” “One More Chance” and “Juicy,” by Kanye West, Faith Evans, and a mass choir.
The 2nd Annual VH1 Hip Hop Honors will air on September 26 at 9:00 pm.
