Brooklyn MC Makes Tribute Song For J Dilla

right Skyzoo, who only met Dilla once in 2004, but steadily spoke to him on the phone till his untimely death, was devastated by the loss of his music idol and dear friend. The 23-year-old lyricist, who has already worked with Little Brother, thought the only way to express his emotion was through song. “I cried when I started writing it,” says Skyzoo, about his poignant “Sky’s Last Donut” tribute track to Dilla. “I did the song to help me cope with the death. Dilla’s passing was incredibly hard to deal with, but the song helped me get through. “I loved him like a brother.” “Sky’s Last Donut” has been slowly making the rounds on the Internet.
