That’s because the Los Angeles City Council approved a $1.1 million payment to the family of the Notorious B.I.G. on Wednesday (March 29). left According to Reuters, the $1.1 million dollar penalty will go to pay legal costs incurred by the Wallace family in its wrongful death mistrial. The payment was approved because of errors in a civil wrongful death trial over accusations that Christopher Wallace was murdered by crooked police officers. A U.S. district judge accused police of concealing evidence, but the case was declared a mistrial last year. Voletta Wallace, the mother of the Notorious B.I.G, intends to go ahead with its wrongful death lawsuit and hopes to set a new trial date in April. The Notorious B.I.G. was brutally shot dead at the age of 24 in 1997 in Los Angeles.
