Naomi Campbell Arrested for Assault After Cracking Blackberry Over Maid's Head

left According to CNN, the world-renowned supermodel was arrested and charged with assault Thursday morning (March 30) after allegedly cracking a crystal-encrusted Blackberry against the head of her housekeeper inside her Park Ave penthouse in New York City. Campbell apparently became enraged after accusing the maid of stealing a pair of $200 Chip & Pepper jeans. However a spokeswoman for Campbell sees this case in an entirely different light. "We believe this is a case of retaliation, because Naomi had fired her housekeeper earlier this morning," said a written statement from a spokeswoman for the model to CNN. "We are confident the courts will see it the same way." Campbell was questioned for hours at the Manhattan North Precinct and could face up to seven years in prison if convicted on assault charges. In 2003, Campbell was sued by a former administrative assistant, who claimed that the London-born model threw a phone at her two years earlier in a Beverly Hills, California hotel.
