“I got a lot to talk about, so that’s what’s going to make this album so real,” Cassidy, 23, told New York City’s Hot 97 radio host, Angie Martinez, about his next album during Wednesday afternoon's Angie Martinez's Show. (April 12). left Cassidy, who served his prison term on a conviction of involuntary manslaughter and aggravated assault, sounded as if he traded in some of his brash attitude for a more humble outlook. “I was on 106 & Park the day before I turned myself in, but I didn’t want to explain my situation to the world,” Cassidy told Martinez. “I’m here right now, but I could have been in there (prison) forever. “I’m not a negative person.” As the conversation continued, Cassidy revealed that he was living in a prison cell the size of a bathroom and the prisoners were only allowed 25 daily minutes (15 collect, 10 free) of time on the phone, though Cassidy managed to get in a few hours a day despite regulations. Cassidy also confessed to spending a lot of his time in the pen catching up on his reading. The current parolee revealed that he read the bible front to back, and the Purpose Driven Life by Rick Warren. He also stated that he was receiving an average of six letters of fan mail per day. “I was able to read them all (fan mail), but not write everyone back,” Cassidy explained. However, one person he was able to write to while behind bars was none other than Lil’ Kim, who’s serving a prison sentence in his native Philadelphia. “I wrote to Kim. She was showing me love before I went to jail,” Cassidy explained to listeners. “She’s doing good. She’ll be home soon.” Swizz Beatz’ Full Surface imprint released Cassidy’s Cassidy (The Anthem) track just days before the Philly-bred rapper was released from prison.

A title and release date for Cassidy’s next album hasn’t been announced as of press time, however a Philly collaboration between he and Eve could be in the works, as Swizzy officially announced E-V-E's affiliation with Full Surface.
