Universal Music Publishing Group announced Monday (April 10) their signing of the teenage R&B sensation to an exclusive worldwide publishing deal.
“It is great to have signed with
Universal Music Publishing Group because they believe in me as an artist and want to see me progress as a writer,” said Brown in a press release statement.
Brown, who cites the likes of
Michael Jackson,
Usher and
Tevin Campbell as influences, rose straight to the top of the
Billboard Hot 100 with his debut smash single “Run It” featuring
Juelz Santana.
Brown’s self-titled debut album also entered at No. 1 on the
Billboard Top R&B/Hip-Hop Albums chart.
With an early track record and a bright future ahead, it’s clear why UMPG sealed the deal with Brown.
