That’s because Rowland, who cited that she needs more time, has pushed back her sophomore set from a scheduled July release to the first quarter of 2007.
right "We want to make sure our marketing strategy is a multi-tiered approach that capitalizes on the synergies afforded by her other projects,"
Matthew Knowles, Rowland’s manager and father of
Beyonce, told
Billboard. “If she finds a better song or songs to add, we'll use them. But that's not the reason for changing the date. (Everyone) is pleased with the record Kelly made."
Rowland is promising her second album will be more introspective and urban than her solo debut.
In related news, Rowland will be in Atlanta on Saturday (May 20) to launch the five-city
Soft Sheen-Carson/Vixen Model Search for women of color. In connection with the contest, Rowland will be on the cover of the summer issue of
Vibe Vixen, which hits newsstands May 16.
