Police have told the
Philalephia Daily News that Sigel and two friends were partying at the
Z-Bar until 3:30 a.m. on Thursday.
The trouble apparently started when Sigel went to drop his two friends off in Southwest Philadelphia. As Sigel made his way back to South Philly, he thought a car was following his
Chevrolet Impala. The self-proclaimed
Broad Street Bully let the car pass him, but when each vehicle stopped a block away from Sigel’s childhood home, two men jumped out the car and one had a gun.
Sigel reportedly then told the men, "Know who I am?" At that point, another car pulled up behind Sigel’s
Impala and two more men jumped out. Once again, one man had a gun.
right Sigel told police he handed over his watch and a platinum chain, which were worth a combined $75,000. He also gave the men $3,000 in cash.
Despite giving the men his prized material possessions, Sigel had four shots fired at him. One of the bullets struck him in the shoulder.
Sigel did not call 911. Instead, he drove himself to the
Hospital of the University of Pennsylvania at about 7 a.m., was treated and then released hours after.
Ironically, no shell casings were found at the scene of the shooting and no witnesses have come forward.
Still, Philadelphia police continued investigating on Friday (May 26) by reviewing surveillance tapes from the
Z-Bar.
